  • Primary Purpose: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for care, safety, and well being of patients during assigned acts, and for observing all necessary precautions and procedures in use of equipment to prevent injury to the patient.  The therapist is responsible for carrying out treatment in accordance with the physician’s prescription and for observing all required hospital patients.

    Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities: No formal policy setting responsibility.

    Formal Supervisory Responsibility: No formal supervisory responsibility.

    Required Knowledge: Job knowledge includes awareness of relative value and limitations of each piece of equipment and skills in use of a broad range of modalities with a clear understanding of indications and contraindications of each modality.

    Required Skills and Ability: Must be able to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, kinesiology, and physical science to specialized techniques in treatment of the patient.

    Education and Certification/ Registration Required for the Position: Must be duly licensed under applicable State laws to practice occupational therapy; credentialed/credential eligible by the American Occupational Therapy Association; and graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum.
