The RN/LPN Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the effective overall management of a nursing unit and for providing quality nursing care to all residents. Responsibility lies in coordinating three major areas: Resident care management, personnel management and unit management on designated shift. Accountable to the Nurse Manager of the unit or the Supervisor of the shift and the Assistant Director of Nursing. Responsible for meeting the unique cognitive, physical, emotional and medical needs of the resident population. Supervises and directs Nursing Assistants within their team helping them to set priorities and making them aware of changes in resident status and therapy schedules. Graduate from a State approved school of nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse in the State of Maryland. Must be CPR certified.
