CT RAD TECH REG- Centra Southside Community Hospital
The Registered Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist/Radiologic Technologist performs
computed tomographic examinations (CAT scans) and takes X-rays, as well as administers nonradioactive
materials into patient's blood stream for diagnostic purposes. This position monitors
patient safety and comfort and views images of area being scanned to ensure image quality. This
position is part of the Diagnostic Imaging Department and works with a high-volume of in-patients,
out-patients, and Emergency Department patients.
Educational Requirements - Completed two-year degree or certification program in Radiologic Technology.
Certification/Licensure Requirements - Certification as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from American Heart Association or the American Red
Cross.
Must test for Computed Tomograhy (CT) Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (ARRT) within eighteen (18) months of hire and successfully obtain CT Certification within
thirty (30) months of hire.
