Medical Office Associate II
The Medical Office Associate II serves as the primary contact for patients, providing service to patients when they present to the office or contact the office via telephone or email. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to patients and providers, working independently with little supervision, making decisions, prioritizing and adapting to constantly changing demands of a medical practice.
Duties may include: registering patients, scheduling appointments, entering charges in practice management system, update electronic medical records, collecting payments, verifying insurance, answering phones/directing calls, taking and forwarding detailed messages, contacting patients regarding appointments, answering billing questions, assisting patients with questions about financial and insurance matters, and performing other duties as assigned.
At least one year of experience in a medical office environment. High School Graduate or equivalent. Associates degree in Medical Office Management, Business or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques, and demonstrated ability to interact with all patients in a friendly, courteous and professional manner that ensures 100% patient satisfaction.
Skilled in computer use. Experience answering multi-line telephone system, and interacting with all callers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Experience performing detailed tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to interact with diverse groups. Ability to operate and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical office management and medical terminology. Knowledge of medical office revenue cycle principles. Experience performing detailed tasks accurately and efficiently, even with multiple interruptions. Ability to perform work independently and with a high level of accuracy.
