Certified Medical Assistant
The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) provides patient support services to a provider and can perform clerical duties. Medical Assistants coordinate and provide care to patients in a medical practice under the tenets of Centra's Professional Practice Model. Medical Assistants practice under the direction and supervision of a licensed medical practitioner authorized by regulations of the Department of Health Board of Medicine. Medical Assistants collaborates with providers and members of the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. Under the direction of a provider, the MA coordinates the various care processes that are necessary to achieve desired outcomes. MAs works to promote and sustain a culture reflective of Centra's mission, vision, and values.
High School diploma or equivalent, and graduate of Medical Assistant program ABHES or CAAHEP accredited institution or completion of a Clinical Medical Assistants Program (CVCC program) where candidate is qualified to sit for the "Clinical Medical Assistant Program". Maintains a professional portfolio, annual Centra mandatory CBLs, annual CMG age specific competency completion/education verification.
