The Server Platform Systems Engineer II (SPSEII) provides analytical, technical, and administrative support in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing server platform systems and services. This position oversees the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for enterprise server systems of moderate complexity. Participates at a senior level in server & systems planning, architectural design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts architectures, topologies, hardware, software, and networking into complete systems configurations. Evaluates new products, performs server systems problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Troubleshoots server platform issues, monitors server system health, performs system tuning, and makes recommendations for overall system improvement.
EDUCATION
Required:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Technical institute degree
· Or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· 7+ years of Server Platform experience
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrated conflict management and problem solving skills
· Strong decision?making, critical?thinking and listening skills
· Demonstrated ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
· Valid Virginia driver's license
· MTA Certification (or UNIX/Linux equivalents)
· MCSA / VCA (Data Center) Certification (or UNIX/Linux equivalents)
