    CENTRA  offers the unique opportunity for newly licensed graduate nurses to successfully transition from students to professional nurses in our Nurse Residency Program. The number of new graduate nurses hired is based on the anticipated needs of the clinical areas. Below is information that will guide you through the application process for a new graduate RN position at Centra.


    New nurse graduates will be hired into RN I New Graduate Positions, depending on hiring needs of the units. All new RN graduates hired at Centra will be required to participate in the Nurse Residency Program (unless you have previous experience as an LPN or have worked at least 6 months as an RN)The new graduate must receive their Authorization to Test Letter (ATT) OR be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia before starting at Centra.

    Application Process for New Graduate Nurse RN I Positions

    You will only be allowed to attach ONE document to your application when you apply. We ask that you submit your application and attach your cover letter, resume, and essay as one document (save your three documents as one document). In order to mark your application as complete and send to the hiring manager for review, you must have all three items within the attachment.

    Cover Letter (please include):

    1.     Why you have selected Centra as an employer of choice

    2.      List your top two clinical practice divisions of interest and why you selected those specific areas (see a list of divisions below)

    3.     Indicate the location of the facilities you would like to work (Lynchburg, Bedford, or Farmville)
