Provide operational management and direction of the Clinical Information System (CIS) to support patient care functions across the continuum, facilitate positive outcomes for both patients and staff and assure effective business decisions. Responsible for defining the goal and direction of the CIS operations including analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. Works to build consensus between and among other departments to improve the health of population, communities, families, and individuals by optimizing information management and communication. Responsible for overseeing and assuring adequate training and education as it relates to patient information needed for making care decisions. Functions as the nursing liaison from hospital operations in the design and implementation of a clinical information system. Initiates the implementation of adhoc teams or performance improvement projects to meet patient/family, hospital, or community needs, as related to clinical information systems or information management. Works collaboratively with outside vendors. Employs informatics theories, concepts, methods and tools to analyze information and information systems, data structures and decision support mechanisms that support patients, clinical staff and their human computer interaction within healthcare contexts. Bachelor’s Degree is required with 1-2 years of experience in information management processes. Also required is a current clinical license in the state of Ohio, clinical skills and knowledge and required to attend training and obtain Epic certification. Preferred Masters Degree and 3-4 years of pediatrics and knowledge of patient care delivery processes.
