Welcome patients to a centralized registration area by occupying the greeter's desk. Assess where the proper destination is for each patient and direct the patient/family accordingly. Once it is ascertained that the patient is in the correct location, sign the patient into the area, notify registrars that the patient has arrived, direct the patient to the appropriate booth or instruct them to have a seat in the waiting area until a registrar is available. Ensure that effective communication is maintained between the clinic staff, patient access staff and patients to provide the best possible customer service. Collaborate with team members to maintain timely patient flow. A high school diploma/GED, 1-2 years of patient financial or patient access experience, basic computer skills and customer service skills required. An Associate degree, 3-4 years of related experience, CHAA, medical terminology and collections experience preferred.
