To provide maximum security possible for the hospital during normal day to day operations, as well as during emergency situations. The unarmed security officer provides enforcement of hospital rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors and hospital employees. This enforcement will be exercised in a low key, professional manner consistent with the overall hospital mission of providing health care to the children of the community. Responsible for complying with an effective hospital wide program for the surveillance., prevention, and control of infection. Responsible for complying with a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury. This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital. This position will provide patient transport. This position will maintain a valid drivers license and be able to insured by the hospital's insurance carrier. Must be able to lift 70lbs. EMT or ambullette driver and customer service experience preferred. Must successfully complete in-house emergency vehicle operator course within 8 weeks of hire date. High School/GED, 2 - 3 years experience specializing in law enforcement or facility security, OPOTA certification or similar certification/licensure, Completion of the Emergency Vehicle Operations certification within the eight weeks of hire and the ability to be certified as Dayton Special Officer within six months to a year, and valid drivers license and ability to be carried on hospital's insurance policy.
