The NP serves as an expert clinical nurse practitioner who utilizes the Synergy Professional Practice Model, specialized knowledge, skill, research and competency acquired through advanced professional training to promote optimum care of patients and families within the neonatal/pediatric population. The NP acts as a consultant to the patient/family, nursing staff, other employees and physicians and the community in the area of neonatal/pediatric health. The NP inter-relates with all departments in the hospital as a voice for nursing practice where clinical expertise is required. The PNP performs comprehensive physicals and histories on pediatric patients, develops a plan of care, orders medications in collaboration with the gastroenterologists. ADN, BSN, Diploma with certificate, specializing in nursing, RN licensure in State of Ohio CPR training, COA - NP certification in State of Ohio with prescriptive authority, current Certificate of Authority in the state of Ohio required. Must apply for and be granted privileges by the CEO as a condition of employment at DCMC.
