Job Summary:
Under the general supervision and direction of the Practice Administrator and Medical Director for Pediatric Rehabilitation, the Clinical Rehabilitation Outreach Specialist develops and maintains relationships with internal and external referral sources for acute rehabilitation admissions and contributes to the growth of the program in facilitating the admission of all appropriate acute rehabilitation patients. The Clinical Rehabilitation Outreach Specialist works closely with the rehabilitation nursing, therapy and physician staff to consistently implement a proactive customer service, market-driven approach to program growth and patient satisfaction with services provided on our Inpatient specialty rehabilitation program.

Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
License/Certification: RN/MSN, OT, PT, Speech Pathologist, Respiratory Therapist (RCP/RRT) or LCSW.  Driver's License.
Experience: Two years pediatric experience, specialized educational preparation, and/or extensive clinical experience in a specialty area. Demonstrates proficient knowledge of inpatient acute rehabilitation services, goals, and procedures and has at least 4 years of clinical experience working in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate ability to independently prioritize work in order to meet professional and program goals. Uses time away from the Medical Center in a consistently productive manner. Demonstrates proficient knowledge of inpatient acute rehabilitation services, goals, and procedures and has at least 4 years of clinical experience working in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting. Maintains current knowledge and competence in the area of specialization and in professional practice through review and critique of the literature, and attendance at conferences and continuing education programs.  Maintenance of active membership in local and national organizations.  Maintains knowledge on insurance authorization process. Demonstrates proficient knowledge of inpatient acute rehabilitation services, goals, and procedures and has at least 4 years of clinical experience working in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting. Maintains current knowledge and competence in the area of specialization and in professional practice through review and critique of the literature, and attendance at conferences and continuing education programs.  Maintenance of active membership in local and national organizations. Maintains knowledge on insurance authorization process. Competent to screen and assess clinical information for appropriate levels of care. Maintain a California Driver’s license and car insurance as required by the hospital. Computer competencies for using the EPIC and meditech. Use of computer systems, Microsoft word and excel.
