Provides administrative leadership and operational oversight of all personnel at the Walnut Creek Site, including the Ambulatory Surgery Department, Ambulatory Subspecialty Clinics, Diagnostic Imaging Services, and new clinical services developed in the Walnut Creek Specialty Center. Facilitates implementation of the Walnut Creek Business Development plan and be the onsite leader overseeing future facility renovations. Works with other management and leadership staff to develop the annual capital and operating budgets, manage budget performance, develop/implement policies related to program operations, ensure quality review and development of appropriate clinical standards, and maintain ongoing continuous regulatory review readiness. Consistently collaborates with the medical staff to ensure the availability of clinic, surgery, and Diagnostic Imaging appointments to meet community and physician needs.
Ensures staff/operations meet established state/local legislation and regulatory requirements.
Works closely with the VP of Strategy/Communications to identify areas of needed service in the community, develop plans to meet the service needs, as well as, heighten visibility of Children’s Hospital within the community.
This role has a matrix reporting relationship to the Director of Perioperative Services and Walnut Creek Campus, VP of Ambulatory Services, and VP of Strategy. The role works closely with the Director, Diagnostic Imaging, to ensure the DI operational activities at Walnut Creek are well coordinated.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree (Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration), preferred. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Experience: At least 7 years of previous progressive management experience in nursing, including operations management. At least 3 years of Ambulatory Surgery Center management, required. Experience in Academic Medical Center and Service-Line Management, preferred.
License: Current California RN license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic proficiency with PC, word processing, spreadsheets. Advanced communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and working knowledge of regulatory requirements. Good crisis management / prioritization abilities.
