Marriage & Family Therapist
Provide counseling using applied psychotherapeutic techniques to enable individuals and the family to mature and grow. Provide services with individuals, families or groups wherein interpersonal relationships are examined for the purpose of achieving more adequate, satisfying, and productive individual and/or family adjustments
Education: Masters Degree in marriage and family and child counseling, marital and family therapy, psychology, clinical or counseling psychology, or counseling with an emphasis in either marriage, family and child counseling or marriage and family therapy from an accredited school.
Experience: Experience working with children and families with a culturally diverse population.
License/Registration: Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science in California as a Marriage & Family Therapist
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Normal an atypical child development. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting with a diverse group of professional and support staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to crises. Position requires: 1) moderate physical activity such as sitting, traveling, walking, driving, bending, lifting and computer usage; 2) ability to work independently, organize tasks, problem solve, make decisions, and handle multiple priorities; 3) interpersonal skills with co-workers and client families in varied settings.
