Job Summary:
To apply knowledge and skill of music therapy in caring for the health needs of infant, child, adolescent patients and families, in accord with the patient’s overall treatment plan.

Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in Music Therapy.
Experience: 2 yrs clinical experience. Medical music therapy experience strongly preferred.
Certification Required: Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to use music technology for effective music therapy interventions.Ability to triage patient referrals and implement effective therapeutic treatment plan.Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict in professional and effective manner.Knowledge of and ability to implement best practice in pediatric medical music therapy. Knowledge of the principals of child development and the impact of healthcare experiences on child development. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to promote and maintain positive working relationships. Ability to relate to persons of diverse age and demographic backgrounds.  Possesses an independent work initiative, organizational ability, sound judgment and a professional demeanor. Models an independent work initiative. Critical thinking skills. Demonstrates leadership skills.

Physical Requirements:

Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours
Reach: Up to 6 hours
Rep Use of UE: Up to 6 hours
Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment
