Minimum of Six Months Experience Required
The Radiology Assistant reports directly to the Radiology Manager/Lead Radiology Assistant,provides high quality,timely and efficient general clerical services to all staff,clients,and patients. Order entry for in and out patient radiology services performed. Sorts,matches, assembles,files,mails and distributes x-ray images and reports according to established guidelines and procedures. Tracks and locates x-ray jackets,films,and reports.Operates computer and PACs systems.Import/Export images in PACs system. Performs all other related duties assigned. Maintain a professional and caring attitude toward the patient, families and customers.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Six months recent experience in a similar setting. Previous Radiology experience a plus.
Skills and Abilities: Importing outside films into PACs and fast input into Meditech. Process cash when making copies for patients/parents.Answer multiple phone lines. Medical terminology. ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding experience preferred. Personal computer knowledge and skills. Excellent customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to promote a constructive and positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with and assist providers and other staff. Able to be an effective problem solver through active problem identifications and collaboration with other staff, physicians, providers, insurers, other staff, managers from other departments and Hospital Administration. Able to remain flexible in staffing patterns; the ability to be a team player. The ability to use appropriate organizational skills in setting priorities for work. Able to resolve conflicts in a pro-active manner that demonstrates a high level of customer service. Able to serve as a role model to other staff in the area of customer service.
