Job Summary: The Parent Infant Program Infant Development Assistant works as a child development assistant with infants and young children who have, or are at risk for, developmental problems and their parents, in home, center and community-based settings.  The Developmental Assistant assists the multidisciplinary PIP program staff in preparation and carry-through of program activities that provide developmental intervention for children and developmental guidance and support for parents. 

Job Requirements:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. AA or Bachelor’s degree in child development or related field preferred.
Experience: Six months recent experience working with disabled/at risk infants and young children and their families required.
Knowledge/Skills: Car and valid California Driver’s license. Child Development (normal and atypical) Multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary teamwork Parent-Child interaction. Work with ethnically and culturally diverse families. Parent education and support. Developmental disabilities.
Other Requirements: Significant interpersonal skills with co-workers and with client families in varied setting including center, client’s homes and in the community. Spanish speaking highly preferred.  Job location is in South Hayward.
