The Senior Director serves a threefold role:
- As the primary liaison between national Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland (CHRCO)
- As the primary leader, contact, and developer of strategy for developing further the cause related marketing component of the non CMN corporate community fundraising
- As the primary leader, contact, and developer and implementer of strategy to engage the grassroots community fundraisers in support of CHRCO.
The position directs the daily activities of the Children’s Miracle Network. Cause marketing, and grassroots community fundraising team. The director cultivates, develops, and maintains sponsorship relationships between CHRCO and local and national CMN sponsors; with non CMN related corporate entities, and with other community groups that initiate fundraising on behalf of CHRCO.
Education: A four year college degree or academic training in business or nonprofit administration; or an equivalent of one year experience for each year of required academic training.
Experience: A minimum of four years experience working with nonprofit agencies. A minimum of four years experience fund raising. Preferred minimum two years experience in cause-related marketing and fund raising.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. Excellent planning, organizational and assessment skills. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and sponsors. Ability to work with other nonprofit agencies. Schedule flexibility (ability to work occasional evenings and weekends) and have reliable transportation. Fully developed fund raising skills.
