The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating the organization's Continuing Medical Education Program, CME Committee meetings and all CME related activities. The position requires excellent skills in the following areas: communication, project planning and program implementation. The ability to prioritize tasks and projects, work efficiently, have an attention to detail and develop and follow standardized procedures and processes are key abilities for the CME Coordinator. This position is vital to the success of the hospital maintaining the Institute of Medical Quality (IMQ) accreditation as an accredited CME provider.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Education, Biological Sciences, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
Experience: 2-4 years prior work experience in: 1) educational instruction and or workshop/program/seminar development 2) program scheduling and 3) marketing/customer service relationsisrequired. Knowledge on creating and maintaining databases, experience in conducting audits/reviews and writing annual reports is required.
Skills & Abilities: Must have strong PC skills: Word, Excel, Power Point and Access. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, a collaborative/team communication style, ability to work with diverse populations. Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project or under the direction of the Director of CME. Must have the ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks, problem solve and complete projects. Must be neat, organized and have an attention to detail. Must be reliable, flexible, dependable and have a positive attitude.
