Nurse Practitioner
The Cardiac Stress Testing Nurse Practitioner reports to the Administrative Director of Nursing. The NP provides direct care to patients undergoing inpatient and outpatient cardiac testing.  The NP will be responsible for supervising Stress Echocardiograms, Treadmills, Dobutamine and Bubble Studies, as well as cardiac nuclear imaging testing as ordered by staff physicians. Position works collaboratively with members of the nursing, cardiology and medical staff.  Must have ability to depict lethal diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate timely information to the physicians (both referring and reading).  Also maintains registered nurse competencies by possessing the skills and knowledge to competently provide appropriate patient care.


The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under general Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedure approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (CIDP), and provides routine care and management of the patient with acute and chronic complaints in collaboration with the supervising physician and through implementation of standardized procedures. The NP possesses skills and knowledge to competently provide excellent patient care, offer a high level of compassion, patience, and subject matter expertise. The NP will also educate patients and families in terms of services provided by the hospital and community resources when appropriate.



Demonstrated teaching, leadership, and critical thinking skills are essential. Clinical background in cardiovascular management is required with a minimum two (2) years of experience.  Acute care hospital experience within the past five (5) years is preferred with an emphasis in cardiology.



As necessary for required licensures.  Master's Degree in Nursing and relevant Nurse Practitioner training certification preferred.



Current California RN licensure and authorization as a nurse practitioner required.  Certified by a recognized national certifying body that has established standards for nurse practitioners. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS certification required. Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM) within 12 months of hire.
