REQUIRED: one year of technical training in a Technician Training Program approved by the ABHES, CAHEA or other organization approved by HHS. Required registration. Currently registered with American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or eligible for registry. Successful completion of registering within 12 months of employment. Summary: Performs a variety of moderately complex and highly complex tests on patients of all ages as defined by Federal and State Regulations. Applies principles, theories and techniques according to Laboratory Practices and Procedures to produce accurate test results in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Urinalysis.
