The Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator is responsible for daily patient care and personnel activities on an assigned shift. They are responsible for the delivery of nursing care related to the care of the geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patient through the following job segments:
A. Interprets the Philosophy and Objectives of the Nursing Department, together with the NCC and members of Nursing Department and Hospital Management.
B. Coordinates unit activities for a given shfit, by facilitating a stable and organized work environment thruogh leadership, direction and delegaation to provide and maintain quality nursing care.
C. Coordinates and supervises in the interest of the Hospital, unit personnel activities on assigned shifts by promoting staff growth and development, participating in the evaluation process and coulseing procedures, and determining and effectuating management decisions with respect to hiring, discipline, evaluations of performance and the direction and assignment of staff.
D. Demonstrates educational and experimental qualifications in nursing practice; demonstrates the ability to guide, direct and influence the value and behavior of others.
E. Enhances staff development through facilitation of the orientation process, involvement in staff meetings and as a direct resource person.
BSN or actively enrolled in a BSN program; Minimally one year related clinical experience required; Licensed professional nurse in the State of New York and holds a current CPR card; Microsoft Word and Excel. Competent in data collection and analysis and the application of statistical tools.
