Department: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit 600302
Schedule: Active Supplemental
Shift: Days
Hours: 24 hours, 7a-7p, ev/other weekend
Job Details: - 1 - 2 years experience preferred
- Customer service skills are required
Responsible for the flow of communication and all clerical activities in assigned nursing department meeting and/or exceeding expectations of all customers. It is the responsibility of the clinical secretary to serve as a liaison for the daily communication of the department between staff, patients and all customers. Coordinates and maintains many facets of data collections utilizing various equipment for the department.

                                           Must be able to attend 3 week day orientation

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent with good clerical and public relations skills required.
  • Good typing, data entry and computer skills required.
  • Completion of a medical office technology course, data entry experience, and previous knowledge of computer programs, applications, software with 1-3 yr. Clerical experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to complete required (if applicable) training program.
  • Must have the ability to frequently work in a seated position; must be mobile from one department to another. Must have the ability and capacity to document in clear and concise fashion with accurate spelling. Must have the ability to respond and react immediately with unimpeded auditory perception of verbal/vocal instruments. Must have the ability to respond and react to visual observation. Must have the ability to exhibit flexibility to juggle several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks Must have the ability to deal with life issues as appropriate. Must have the ability and capacity to efficiently and accurately manipulate various keyboards, such as computers and calculators. Must have the ability to think logically and respond to problem situations appropriately. Must have the ability to read and transpose figures to allow for quick and accurate transfer of information. Must have the ability to effectively communicate either orally and/or written with people of various ages, educational levels and backgrounds. Must have the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations. Must have the ability to push and pull patients and associated equipment when transporting. Must have the ability to perform the proper technique of basic patient lifting when transporting. Must have the ability to walk at a very fast pace while transporting patients from one area to another in critical situations.
