Job Summary: The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound, and uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care. Provides a summary of findings to the physician or health care provider to aid in patient diagnosis and management. Participates in CQI activities.
Requirements: High School graduate. Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required. Prefer two years of radiologic/imaging experience. Specific experience and training in Ultrasound. ARDMS Registered or ARDMS candidate.Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasonography, or has received education and clinical experience and demonstrated competence to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within a year of hire preferred. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Excellent Customer Service skills.
