Job Summary: The RN, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum/Mother/Baby provides direct patient care in the antepartum setting. Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care, both maternal and newborn. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Performs general nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities. Promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and coworkers. Regulatory Requirements: • Current state Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Maine. • Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification. • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS and fetal monitoring certification required. • Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery experience preferred. Skills: • Basic computer knowledge.
