Job Summary: The Boiler Engineer-in-Charge is responsible for the  necessary duties to operate and maintain boilers and other auxiliary equipment required for producing steam for heat and power for the hospital facility. The Engineer-in-Charge is the Owner's assigned individual who is responsible for ensuring that the pressure vessels are maintained and operated in a safe condition as required by the State of Maine Boiler and Pressure Vessels Laws and Rules.


Requirements:   High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); training in boiler room operating techniques and related activities.  Fireperson license.  Sufficient previous experience as fireperson in a hospital boiler room or similar setting.

Skills:  Basic computer knowledge.
