Job Summary: The Cardiopulmonary RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the Cardiopulmonary/ Telemetry setting. After one year of service (New graduate RN's only) and completion of additional education, the RN may also take care of IMC level patients. Communicates with providers about changes in patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Requirements: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferable. Current Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Maine. One or more years of recent acute care experience, preferred. Successful completion of basic arrhythmia certification and obtaining additional education within the first 3 years, 12 lead interpretation class, pacemaker and any other education required. Current ACLS (or obtain in approximately one year). Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in interpreting EKG once education done.
