Job Summary: The Boiler Engineer-in-Charge is responsible for the necessary duties to operate and maintain boilers and other auxiliary equipment required for producing steam for heat and power for the hospital facility. The Engineer-in-Charge is the Owner's assigned individual who is responsible for ensuring that the pressure vessels are maintained and operated in a safe condition as required by the State of Maine Boiler and Pressure Vessels Laws and Rules. Boiler Engineer will sign and document all State of Maine required paper work, policies, and procedures. Boiler Engineer will also be involved in all other hospital maintenance and repair requests and or duties. A minimum of a 4th class engineer lic. is required.
Requirements:
ยท High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); training in boiler room operating techniques and related activities. Fireperson license. Sufficient previous experience as fireperson in a hospital boiler room or similar setting. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of boiler operation, cleaning and maintenance and safety procedures; incinerator operation, cleaning and maintenance; heat, ventilation and air conditioning operation.
