Job Summary: The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and process­ing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Outpatient practices and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facili­ties.  The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet estab­lished deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff.  The position also involves effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:  Phlebotomy Certification is preferred.  American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required upon hire or within 90 days of employment.  High School Diploma required and strong background in biology and chemis­try preferred.
