Personal Care Aide (PCA) will work a maximum of 20 hours per week assisting residents in the Residential Care Unit with their activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, making up rooms, escorting to meals, and various daily activities. Applicants must be at least 18 years old (exception, may be 16 or 17 if a Certified Nursing Assistant). High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. If you are interested in working more than 20 hours per week, the Rumford Community Home will be offering specialized training as a Personal Support Specialist (PSS). This is a six day (48 hour) training course. A PSS performs essentially the same tasks as a PCA however a PSS can work more than 20 hours per week. A PCA can not work after 4 months unless they obtain a certificate as a PSS or CNA to continue working.
