Job Summary: The NoVA Representative notifies insurance companies of scheduled and non-scheduled patient admissions, verifies insurance coverage and patient's financial responsibility and ensures that proper authorizations and referrals are obtained prior to services. Contacts patients in advance of service to provide insurance benefit information, informs the patient of his/her financial obligation and answer billing/insurance questions. Prepares written communication to all patients of their insurance benefits.
Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two years relevant experience, including knowledge of insurance billing and medical terminology. Basic understanding of the Medicaid application and eligibility determination process.
Skills: Excellent skills with personal and mainframe computers and word processing. High level of interpersonal communication skills. Ability to deal with difficult customer situations.
