Central Maine Neurosurgery is looking to add to a growing surgical team; with focus on high quality patient care. Applicant should be a self-motivated learner with ability to recognize own limitations and request assistance. Excellent communication skills with other providers and ability to triage patients' needs are essential. Candidate will perform patient care both in the outpatient and inpatient settings under the supervision of a surgeon. Duties include surgical assisting, rounding on inpatients, performing follow up and pre-operative visits in the clinic, and similar duties as well as participation in all quality and process improvement initiatives. Experience in a surgical unit, trauma, acute care or critical care would be preferred but not essential.
Requirements: PA must be Licensed, Registered or certified in the state of Maine. PA must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program; NCCPA certified. PA must complete 100 hours of CME every two (2) years and take the recertification exam every six (6) years. Current BCLS certification and ACLS Certification required. May accept a NP with an acute experience if possess an RNFA.
