Job Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Performs and assists with nuclear medicine and PET/CT Exams. Is Responsible for direct patient safety and following all procedural protocols. Maintains all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements. Maintains all Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations ( JCAHO ) and American College of Radiology ( ACR ) accreditation requirements. Is able to perform Regional Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Support at Multiple contract sites as a contract Technologist. Assists in Clinical instruction for Nuclear Medicine, Radiology and Nursing students in the field of Nuclear Medicine. Maintains patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly. Focuses on performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Assists Nuclear Medicine Supervisor in maintaining budgetary constraints
Requirements: CNMT or ARRT(N) certification required. Licensed by the State of Maine as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Current BCLS certification. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
