Job Summary: Reporting to the CFO & Treasurer, the Regional Director of Revenue Cycle Services plans, develops, organizes, directs and controls the operation of the system-wide Patient Financial Services department of Central Maine Healthcare (CMHC). Operation of the Patient Financial Services Department includes Patient Access; Registration; Health Information Management (HIM) including Coding; Medical Records; admissions, pre-certification and insurance verification, referrals and prior authorizations; Central Scheduling; Clinical Documentation Improvement as well directing the central billing office (CBO) for third party billing and follow-up, cash posting, cash flow, and collections. The Regional Director is responsible for the on-going development of the information systems and software utilized in the patient access, HIM and patient accounting areas. Oversees or prepares accurate and timely revenue cycle management reports for Central Maine Healthcare. Oversees the development of procedures to audit data integrity and reports opportunities for improvement to the CFO & Treasurer. Coordinates third party or Medicare audits and related documentation and billing. Directly supervises the managers of Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Patient Accounts, HIM, Central Scheduling, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Customer Services.
· Bachelor's Degree, field of study relevant to position or in management-related discipline. Minimum of ten years experience in accounts receivable or revenue cycle management, extensive knowledge of professional discipline. Healthcare experience a requirement.
· Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
