Job Summary: The RN, Electrophysiology Laboratory, provides direct patient care to adult through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the Electrophysiology Lab environment. Communicates with the physicians as needed, about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of the Electrophysiology Lab departmental equipment and inventory. Assesses and assures procedure room equipment is functioning and ready for use. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Electrophysiology Lab patient are met. Monitors, positions and assists patients during procedure. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Requirements: Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maine. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/ACLS certification required. Minimum of one-year work experience in an Electrophysiology Lab. Minimum of one-year experience in critical care.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings. Operates equipment related to duties as a EP Lab RN.
