Job Summary: The Secretary Support Tech, Emergency Department primarily provides indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff. This position will be considered part of the clinical team for the Emergency Department.
Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent with one-year experience in an acute care hospital. Medical terminology course. BLS Certification. Must have high degree of accuracy, must work well under pressure. Knowledge of order entry processes required. Must be goal oriented with exceptional customer service skills. C.N.A. EMT, or M A certification preferred or plan to obtain necessary skills. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Medical terminology.
