BOL - Activity Coordinator

Activities Residential Care



8a-4p, 40 Hrs.

Job Summary: Plans an activity program for residents that will help carry out the objectives of the facility as part of the total resident  care.  Supervision and protection of residents during these activities and compliance with safety regulations and policies.  Supervises activity  aides and volunteers.  Keep up to date activity forms.  Care and use of supplies and equipment. 


Requirements:   High School Diploma.  Bachelor Degree desirable.   Activity Director Certificate ( not requirement for position) helpful.  1-2 years' Supervisory experience in Activity Program or supervisory experience in another setting.  Must be willing to work with varied diagnosis. Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to cooperate with others.  Must have ability to plan and organize varied recreational activities.  Must have an understanding of the social, psychological, and recreational needs of residents with varied challenges.  May be required to handle emotional disturbances.  Must have knowledge and understanding of Regulations for Level IV residential care regulations, especially specifically for activities.  Must be able to work productively and positively with the Administrator, other department heads, consultants, external vendors and the Department of Health and Human Services.


Skills:  Basic computer knowledge.
