: Clinical Risk Manager assists with clinical identification, risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues. Conducts investigations of risk and claim matters and provides investigative information to legal counsel. Interviews staff and physicians involved in medical malpractice litigation. Provides intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health and well being of all patients, visitors and hospital staff. Assist with the coordination of the organization's risk programs and compliance programs. Reports real and potential risk situations to the Director, Risk Management. Assist in planning and implementing the performance improvement program to meet the needs of the organization. Provides education to providers, staff and administration. Acts as resource person to administrative team, department managers and medical staff. Assist in preparation for all regulatory body surveys, i.e., JCAHO, State Licensing Review.
Requirements: Current RN licensure in State of Maine. 3 or more years of previous experience in risk management, or health care. Previous experience in a law firm conducting case reviews, preparing litigation/investigative summaries preferred.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Word processing and database management preferred. Understanding of the legal/court process.
