The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families of all ages, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Provider will be involved with well child checks, wellness exams, acute visits, geriatrics, nursing home, and chronic condition follow ups. We take care of patients from birth to and through end of life, family planning and women's health. Expectations are to see between 16-20 patients per day, depending on experience. Current practice holds 2382 patients with 2 Medical Doctors. We have a relationship with UNE and host medical students as well as a relationship with Mass General in Boston. Candidate will work according to Maine State Rules and Regulations following established Policies and Procedures as required and within established scope of practice.
Full Time, Monday-Friday; office hours 8am-5pm. The work schedule is negotiable to be discussed at interview.
PA must be Licensed, Registered or certified in the state of Maine.
PA must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program; NCCPA certified.
PA must complete 100 hours of CME every two (2) years and take the recertification exam every six (6) years
NP must have a current Registered Nurse and Adult Practice Nurse License in the State of Maine
NP must have a Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
NP must have National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification eligible
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required; Current ACLS Certification preferred
Current PALS Certification preferred if caring for Pediatric patients. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Previous experience preferred. New Grads are encouraged to apply!
Performs patient care in the outpatient setting under the supervision of a physician.
