Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families of all ages, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Provider will be involved with well child checks, wellness exams, acute visits, geriatrics, nursing home, and chronic condition follow ups. We take care of patients from birth to and through end of life, family planning and women's health. Expectations are to see between 16-20 patients per day, depending on experience. Current practice holds 2382 patients with 2 Medical Doctors. We have a relationship with UNE and host medical students as well as a relationship with Mass General in Boston. Candidate will work according to Maine State Rules and Regulations following established Policies and Procedures as required and within established scope of practice.
Full Time, Monday-Friday; office hours 8am-5pm. The work schedule is negotiable to be discussed at interview. Call ratio 1/8 for 1st call assist.
Minimum Requirements: Current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse License in the State of Maine, Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program, national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification eligible. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. Current ACLS Certification preferred. Current PALS Certification preferred if caring for Pediatric patients. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Previous experience preferred.
