Job Summary: The RN, Nurse Resident provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and specialty unit settings. Communicates with physicians/Team Leaders/Nurse Manager, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision. Completes competency based orientation (skills check list) tool and time manages a 4-5 patient assignment on day shift and 5-6 patient assignment on night shift. Attends all four hour class sessions over the 14 month program. Participation is required in a community service project, as well as developing and completing a quality or basic research project with poster presentation.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current state Registered Nurse Licensure, within state of practice.
Current BCLS certification.
