Job Summary:  In collaboration with senior leadership, the Internal Communications Director develops and plans the organization's internal communications strategy, channels and tactics. Responsible for developing internal communications strategy and messaging and overseeing and executing plans that inform and engage employees related to the organization's strategic plan, organizational changes and direction, important events, and operational issues and updates.  Works collaboratively with marketing and public community relations staff.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.     <!--[endif]-->Assists Chief Human Resources Officer with development of the organization's internal communications strategies.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.     <!--[endif]-->Executes internal communications plan, message development, and announcement strategies derived from CMH strategic goals and in partnership with external communications/public relations.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.     <!--[endif]-->Serves as editor of the organization's newsletter.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.     <!--[endif]-->Drafts internal announcements and talking points when appropriate.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->5.     <!--[endif]-->Assists with drafting and/or editing ad hoc system messages.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->6.     <!--[endif]-->Provides communications counsel to leadership.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->7.     <!--[endif]-->Identifying new internal communications channels and tactics, or improving existing.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->8.     <!--[endif]-->Works in conjunction with other departments in producing print, digital or presentation materials.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->9.     <!--[endif]-->Oversees and manages internal communication events such as Town Halls and small group meetings with senior leaders and assisting with monthly Director's meeting .

<!--[if !supportLists]-->10.  <!--[endif]-->Assesses the effectiveness of communications efforts via surveys.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->11.  <!--[endif]-->Fosters a positive image and consistent brand identity for CMH among internal stakeholders.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->12.  <!--[endif]-->Helps support internal activities within the organization, such as Donate Life Day events.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->13.  <!--[endif]-->Works collaboratively with the Marketing department on corporate initiatives having an internal communications component.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->14.  <!--[endif]-->Responsible for the administrative duties of the communications department.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->15.     <!--[endif]-->Develops annual budget for the Communications Department

16.     <!--[endif]-->Assists external resources in development and production of visual communications materials, including video and photography.

17.     <!--[endif]-->Consults with various individuals and departments regarding communications issues.

18.     <!--[endif]-->Customer Service: Interacts with all individuals in a consistent manner, providing attention, support, and assistance to foster an environment of exceptional service.

 Regulatory Requirements:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·                    <!--[endif]-->Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.A minimum of five (7-10) years experience in corporate/internal communications role. Experience in healthcare preferred.


<!--[if !supportLists]-->·                    <!--[endif]-->Excellent communications skills needed, particularly in writing. Business skills/academic background preferred.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·                    <!--[endif]-->Excellent interpersonal skills.
