Job Summary: The Arrhythmia Service RN will serve as the universal "point of entry" for patients into the Arrhythmia Services Program and must be skilled at customer service, interacting with patients and their families and also be sensitive to the needs and demands of referring physicians and their staffs. The RN is an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse with a background in cardiology and specifically electrophysiology as well as cardiac rhythm management. The Nurse Coordinator assists with coordination of consultations and follow up care for patients with cardiac arrhythmia and/or an implantable cardiac device. Coordination includes tracking patients throughout their interactions with the Arrhythmia Service, from the receipt of the referral through to resolution and discharge from the service if appropriate.
The Arrhythmia Service RN also works within the Cardiac Device Clinic and can perform (with MD oversight) the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemakers, ICDs and implanted loop recorders. This management includes basic interrogation, adjustments as per established protocol or specific order and ability to troubleshoot basic, intermediate and advanced device issues.
At least 1 year Registered Nurse experience.
Current RN license within the state of practice.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
IV Certification preferred.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
