The Senior Associate Director of Development is responsible for independently managing a portfolio of major gift prospects as well as planning and implementing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and principal gift donors. Will partner with leadership, faculty, physicians, scientists, administrators and volunteers to develop priorities, initiatives, and cultivation strategies for Children’s National. Will assist in planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive fundraising program to support strategic institution-wide initiatives. The Senior Associate Director reports to the Senior Director of Development and will have responsibility for his/her own personal fundraising goals.
Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced Degree preferred.
5-7 years of progressive fundraising responsibilities in an academic medical, healthcare environment, or comparable complex organization. Knowledge of best practices in fundraising, including major gifts, corporate and foundation relations and gift planning. Experience working with physicians, scientists, and volunteers in regards to philanthropic partnerships and experience mentoring team members preferred.
