Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling Required. 2-3 years of experience preferred, primarily in direct patient counseling and care. Responsible for providing genetic counseling services to outpatients seen through CNMC on site or at designated outreach centers under the direction of a respective physician. Includes reviewing medical records, triaging new patient referrals, obtaining medical and family histories, and coordinating outreach and support for patients and families. Responsible for providing genetic counseling for new patient diagnoses including explaining natural history, risk of recurrence, and options for future pregnancies. Eligible for certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors required. If board eligible, must receive certification within two cycles. May be required to travel to an off site CNMC location. Spanish Language proficiency preferred.
