Position Summary:

The Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisor is responsible for assuring that Confluence Health (CH) facilities are properly cleaned and supplied with clean linen at all times. The EVS Supervisor functions as a member of the CH EVS Leadership team, providing oversight and supervision to EVS staff and facilities at its Wenatchee and East Wenatchee locations.  For the purposes of this position description EVS includes laundry services and staff.

Essential Functions:

  1. Build the work schedule for the daytime and evening EVS staff.
  2. Coordinate the maintenance and repair of EVS equipment.
  3. Recommend equipment acquisitions to EVS Manager.
  4. Order and maintain sufficient stocks of housekeeping chemicals and supplies.
  5. Participate in interview and selection processes for EVS staff.
  6. Assist with development of EVS training curriculum.
  7. Onboard, train, and motivate employees in conjunction with the EVS training supervisor.
  8. Conduct and document regular performance inspections, evaluations, and reviews on EVS employees.
  9. Assist in the preparation of the annual EVS budget.
  10. Assist with the discipline of employees as requested by the EVS Manager and HR.
  11. Perform routine inspections of facilities for sanitation, order, safety and job completion.
  12. Assure that EVS employees follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
  13. Inspect storage rooms, utility, and janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
  14. Communicate with co-supervisors, managers, administrators and physicians to adequately plan EVS services and activities.
  15. Provide back-up support for EVS management staff as needed.
  16. Receive and respond to EVS related related calls.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of Associates degree, or for an internal candidate 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 3- 3-5 years EVS experience.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and insurance.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • AHE Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification or equivalent preferred.
