Position Summary:

  • To assist the respective Department and physician in providing service excellence and quality patient care by performing a variety of tasks and skills, the exact nature of which will be determined by the work environment and specific specialty area in which the MA-R is working.
 Essential Functions:
  • Essential Functions:
    • Greets patients and escorts them to exam room; prepares patient for exam with basic triage; works in conjunction with team coordinator to maintain timely flow of patients.
    • Take appropriate vital signs, per Dept protocols or guidelines; records vital signs and documents any history given by patient.
    • Performs the role of chaperone according to Wenatchee Valley Medical Center policies and procedures.
    • Assists in procedures and minor emergencies, as directed by the physician and team coordinator in accordance with certification level.
    • Arranges/schedules lab, x-ray, and other tests as directed by the physician and team coordinator; instructs the patient in routine collection of samples, testing procedures and general requirements by specific depts.
    • Provides follow-up lab results and callbacks to patients as delegated by the team coordinator.
    • Process files and ensure completion of forms; ensure that an appropriate medical record is maintained.
    • Enters managed care referrals and completes appropriate paperwork.
    • Responsible for maintaining clean exam rooms and stock items for use in the exam and procedure room.
    • Cleans, soaks, and sterilizes instruments according to Wenatchee Valley Clinic infection control guidelines.
    • Assists team coordinator in delegated tasks as needed.

  • Required:
    • High School diploma or equivalent        
    • WA State Surgical Tech License
    • WA State License as Medical Assistant – Registered
    • Requires ability to relate effectively with co-workers, patients, physicians and function as part of a team.
    • Ability to work efficiently amidst on-going distractions.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
    • Ability to respond calmly in an emergency situation.
