Responsible for coding designated medical records as assigned by coding supervisor. Maintains quality control for all records processed. Codes all records according to ICD-9-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT Coding Guidelines. Abstracts according to UHDDS guidelines. Follows instructions published by "Coding Clinic" and "CPT Assistant."
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in coding in a acute care setting preferred.
Certificate/License: Basic ICD-9-CM and/or CPT Certificate. CCS recommended.
