POSITION SUMMARY: Has accountability for the supervision, planning and review of daily operations and activities within the cath/interventional lab with specific responsibility on a day-to-day basis to manage efficient patient flow, communication intra and interdepartmentally and as a working member of the cath/interventional lab procedure team. Scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, patient safety and satisfaction, staff competency and education, performance improvement, budgeting, personnel management and physician relations. Works collaboratively and proactively with Imaging Services Director, staff, physicians and hospital departments to achieve exceptional care and standardization of processes to enhance the patient experience. Serves as a professional leader and resource to lab staff members. Reviews and adjusts/updates standards of care and lab policies and procedures annually to ensure program consistently meets best practice standards, regulatory requirements and ACC guidelines. Assists in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and evaluates/coordinates the availability of materials, supplies and equipment. Directs performance improvement activities. At all times demonstrates an exceptional approach to the dynamics of the team in caring for patients.
REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent for this position may be a Radiographer, Registered Nurse or Cardiovascular Technologist. This position requires current BLSP and ACLS certification in addition to the requirements below.
Radiographer: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required, completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology with Advanced Level Cardiac Interventional Radiography preferred. 2 years of experience in cath/interventional lab procedures required, 4 years cath/interventional lab procedures with management responsibility preferred. Current registry through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required.
Registered Nurse: Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, current Alaska licensure and 2 years cath/interventional lab procedures required. 4 years of experience in cath/interventional lab procedures with management responsibility preferred.
Cardiovascular Technologist: 2 years of experience in cath/interventional lab procedures required. 4 years of experience in cath/interventional lab procedures with management responsibility preferred. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred.
