EVENING SHIFT - 40 HOURS PER WEEK

Under the general direction of the Supervisor of the Laboratory the CLS IV will assume team lead responsibility for the functioning of Hematology & Chemistry. Working as part of the leadership team for the sections, the CLS IV will perform all aspects of clinical testing listed in the CAP checklists in addition to managing the evening shift schedule and teaching related projects at the discretion of professional staff within the department.

In addition, the CLS IV will perform accurate and precise work with a consistently low error rate while maintaining awareness of sectional needs and contributing ones skills and abilities to meet those needs. Perform and review quality control following established schedules.  This person acts as a technical lead and in conjunction with the leadership team provide direction to the staff working in assigned areas.  The CLS IV will support the overall quality of service, operations, and direction of the section.  The right candidate would possess the appropriate skills and theory necessary to perform a variety of testing and independently operate and maintain equipment used in routine and specialized testing in the assigned area/shift. 

This is a full-time position with rotating weekend and holiday responsibilities; schedule determined by departmental needs.  Generous shift and weekend differential and flexible scheduling available.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree with MLT (ASCP)/HT (ASCP), or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 5 years laboratory experience (as CLS I/II or comparable position) or a Bachelor's degree with MT (ASCP)/HTL (ASCP) or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 3 years laboratory experience (as a CLS II/III or comparable position). Able to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines.  Good communication skills.
